HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!!!
It comes around once a year and I enjoy Thanksgiving even more than Christmas. This year we are spending it by serving a community meal at our church for those who need a meal, friendship and fellowship, lonely, or just no place to go. It should be a wonderful day. I had always wanted to do something like this but there were always family ties in one way or another. Now that Vince and I are basically alone - his parents and siblings gone, and my brother in a VA home and Mom in a nursing facility, we need this time of fellowship around a Thanksgiving table just as much as they whom we will be serving. I am feeling depressed today and just wandered around in stores trying to find a pair of shoes, and just gave up and came home. This time of year is difficult for me and I have to just keep counting my blessings and thanksgiving and praising my Lord and Savior. He alone understands the darkness in my soul at times, even though I love Him and His word. I am so glad it is about He holding me, and not me holding onto Him.
Everyone is welcome to our dinner at Emmanuel Community Church, Wheaton Ave., Bayville NJ between 12 noon and 2 pm. Please do not hesitate to come. There is plenty of food and warm and open hearts to receive you.
